    Doug Charles, PhD, is a professor of sociology at the University of Central Florida where he teaches a cornerstone class on social theory; he is also the drummer for the prog/space rock band Conflicting Motive; and, all around, he is an inquisitive intellectual and researcher with a great interest for understanding the nature of reality and human behavior.

    Doug jams on the drums for a bit followed by an in-depth discussion into the ides of symbols, identity, and simulations as theorized by Jean Baudrillard, whose work directly influenced the creation of the movie "The Matrix." Doug and Stew also talk a bit about what "manhood" means.

    John Blanche is an audio mastering engineering and architect. Starting his career in the early 70's at Criteria Recording Studio in Miami, Florida, John has worked with many music icons, including The Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Joe Cocker. Hr has worked closely with Disney and the Orlando music community. He also has a Grammy for his work on "Hotel California" and an Oscar for a song in the hit movie "Greece."
