  • The Brown Couch Show | Episode 12 | You're Bored??? Good I'm Glad!
    2025/07/06

Welcome back to The Brown Couch Show — the gnarliest, most real, addiction, recovery, and mental health podcast on the internet. In today’s episode, we’re diving into: why boredom in sobriety isn’t a problem — it’s actually progress.

SPOILER ALERT: If you’re used to chaos, stillness can feel like a threat. But what if that boring-ass day you’re having is actually a sign that you’re healing?
Yeah — we’re flipping the script on what peace really looks like in addiction recovery and mental wellness.

In this episode, I’m breaking down:

    • How boredom used to be a trigger for self-destruction
    • Why peace and boredom can feel the same (but aren’t)
    • How I’m learning to sit with stillness without spiraling
    • Why uneventful days are a hidden blessing in sober living

    Let’s get into it.

  • The Brown Couch Show | Episode 11 | Rolling With the Punches??? How to Handle Chaos Without Crashing
    2025/06/29

Welcome back to The Brown Couch Show — the gnarliest, most real, addiction, recovery, and mental health podcast on the internet. In today’s episode, we’re diving into: what it really looks like when life throws you a curveball after you’ve gotten your shit together. I’m talking about those unexpected gut-punch moments that hit harder because you’re sober, aware, and actually trying to do the right thing. This was one of those moments for me.

SPOILER ALERT: I recently got laid off from a job I loved — a job that meant something to me, where I was making a real difference as a peer supporter in Columbus, Ohio. But instead of spiraling, I locked in, leaned into my coping tools, and did something I never would’ve done five years ago: I handled it like a fucking adult. And yeah… life had a surprise waiting for me on the other side of that.

In this episode, I’m breaking down:
My first major setback while sober
    • How I navigated anxiety, uncertainty, and a panic attack during a job interview
    • The mindset shift that saved my sanity
    • Why resilience in recovery is the real flex
    • And how the universe sometimes rewards you when you show the hell up

Oh, and one more thing: I’m transitioning into more audio-only episodes for now. Between the chaos of real life and all the feedback I’ve gotten, audio just makes more sense. Y’all told me you like to listen — so I’m giving the people what they want.

    Let’s get into it.

    2025/06/16

Welcome back to The Brown Couch Show — the gnarliest, most real, addiction, recovery, and mental health podcast on the internet. In today’s episode, we’re diving into: what it feels like to be passionate about something, go all in, and then hit a wall so hard you start questioning if it was ever worth it. That ugly-ass burnout, the depression that creeps in after the hype dies, the isolation, and that heavy-ass feeling of “I wanna keep going, but I fucking can’t.” Whether it’s your art, your job, your side hustle, or even your sobriety — burnout doesn’t discriminate.

SPOILER ALERT: This shit gets raw. I’m talking about my own struggle right now with this podcast, the grind of juggling two jobs, and the feeling of being mentally tapped out. I’m also shouting out the homies making music, chasing dreams, and still feeling invisible. That kind of pain hits different. And yeah… it fucks with your head.

In this episode, I’m breaking down:
