  • The Anthology of UX: Dark Patterns, Hidden Truths, & The Event Horizon
    2023/02/05

Welcome to ÆRCHETYPE podcast, where we explore ideas shaping the human experience.

In this episode we discuss The Anthology of UX, based off a keynote talk I presented at UX DEV Summit back in 2018. Anthology of UX covers 3 facets of the UX world, Dark Patterns, Hidden Truths, & The Event Horizon.

    What's it about?
Here we cover negative uses of UX, harsh realities of the UX culture, and some great new advances we can expect (some already present) along with what it means to be in the UX field and what we need to individually accept and embody as UX professionals to evolve the system. The aim of this keynote presentation is to provoke thought, empower, and spark action among the community to elevate standards and acknowledge we're not in a prefect system, but in an ever-evolving one that requires guidance and real collaboration.

    Who is this for?
This talk was made for those of us in the User Experience field, but provides great insight for leaders in similar roles that are shaping products and services.

    Note on ideas expressed:
Remember that we grow by listening and respecting a considerable degree of different perspectives. As Aristotle wrote, "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." Here I share my ideas, and anyone proposing ideas without expecting them to be challenged has unrealistic expectations. I acknowledge this and welcome healthy conversation on any of these ideas, so leave your comments below or email me at human@aerchetype.com
