DO WE ACTUALLY HAVE A CHOICE IN WHO WE ARE? Obviously, we do not have a choice in where, when, or to whom we were born, or any physical characteristics or limitations we are born with. But what about our life circumstances? To what extent do we have a choice in the struggles we experience in life, the thoughts we think, or even our career or financial situation? How much of our life is influenced by external factors such as biology, accident, or even luck?

EVERY PERSON HAS TWO FUNDAMENTAL PARTS inside them. One is how we think about and view ourselves—our personality, or ego. The other is who we truly are—our essence. Our essence is what connects us to Ultimate Consciousness and Supreme Wisdom, and brings us closer to Ahura Mazda, or God. However, most of us live our lives unaware of our essence and remain in the lower level of our ego. We need to become conscious of our essence and transcend our egos to become who we truly are.

Human beings are not born to creep and craw on Earth like caterpillars. They are born to transform into butterflies and become free. Through intention, learning, and wisdom, this freedom is possible for each one of us. Throughout history, the wisdom of Zarathustra has spread and impacted a variety of different belief systems. His wisdom has inspired and guided Greeks, Romans, Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Before the time of Zarathustra, people worshiped many gods and goddesses.
