Derby shared his experience in the water field. Senator Whitaker also discussed her recent trip to attend the 2023 Association for Career and Technical Education conference, focusing on CTE reform and addressing maintenance issues within schools. The discussion also touched on local economic development and concerns about outsiders taking advantage of the community.

    Additionally, Senator Whitaker mentioned her visit to the youth agriculture project, supporting the youth by stopping by as the children and adults are out there every Saturday from 8 am to 11 am. She expressed gratitude for donations of supplies and acknowledged all those involved in making the program a success.

November is designated as David Hamilton Jackson month, focusing on digitizing historically significant documents. Senator Whitaker celebrated Independence Days for Caribbean nations like Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, and upcoming for Barbados, attending alongside her family members including her grandfather, Mr. Wesley Browne, Sr., and grandmother, Genevieve Browne, who are also Antiguan.

    **Activities**

    Senator Whitaker highlighted ongoing activities, including the youth agriculture project at the Candido Guadeloupe Housing community and her involvement in the VI Board of Career and Technical Education. She also attended the Elections System’s “Civics Matters” event and promoted a ViNGN coordination workshop on digital equity. She addressed school-based violence, particularly recent fights at the St. Croix Educational Complex.

    Student Leaders Protests (VIDE Meeting Prep and Information), Sunday, Sep 24 · 3–4 PM attended by Linroy Forde, who happens to be a youth constituent during my term in office; my goal in my capacity as the President and Co-Founder of the VI Youth Advocacy Coalition and as the former Chairwoman of the Committee on Education & Workforce Development that they had the historical information on the operational supplies at the center of the crisis as articulated through their exercise of their freedom of speech and right to organize.

    10.6.23 Business Expo of the National Academy Foundation (NAF) as organized by alumni, the students from, in the 34th Legislature I sponsored legislation to establish a fund to be administered by the CTE board for Career and Technical Education student organizations such as NAF to help offset travel and program resources expenses.
