Matteo began his study of the breath over 30 years ago while living in Nepal and Tibet-at the time working for a human rights advocacy group. Informed by his study of Buddhism and Hatha Yoga, extensive periods of solitary meditation, and pilgrimages across the Himalayan landscapes, Matteo offers an engaged approach to ancient wisdom traditions. Matteo has a Masters's degree in Indian Philosophy from the University of London, and his writings have appeared in The Washington Post, BBC, Men's Journal, and elsewhere. Matteo and his wife surf and ride mountain bikes from their home in Encinitas.
