    2024/10/24

In this episode of The Far Side of Fitness I sit down with award winning fitness professional Ingrid Knight-Cohee. We get into all things Group Fitness and why should be marketing fitness classes and fitness in general in a very different way!

Ingrid is a thought leader and sought after presenter with an expertise in fitness programming, management, and leadership. She was recently recognized as the 2024 IDEA Fitness Leader of the Year, representing excellence in fitness leadership and unparalleled innovation.

At the helm of fitness programming for Fitness World Canada, Ingrid oversees 150+ fitness instructors and creates exceptional class experiences for over 90,000 members across 16 club locations. With degrees in Human Kinetics and Exercise & Health Psychology, Ingrid regularly presents at global industry events and conferences such as IDEA World, Health & Fitness Association, and canfitpro.

The popular circular class structure engages all movers through intensity level options in the spirit of earth, wind and fire, with all movements driven by soul-stirring Afrobeats. • 5. Why Gym and Diet Culture are Anti-Longevity and Anti-Environmentalism
    2024/10/03

In today's episode I chat with Dr. Supatra Tovar. We discuss how gym culture and diet culture are the same forms of extremism and how they both are anti-environmental in their current forms.

As one of the only clinical psychologists who is also a registered dietitian and certified fitness expert, Dr. Tovar teaches clients how to use research-based techniques in behavioral psychology, nutritional science, and exercise kinesiology to overcome complex challenges. She harnesses the different disciplines of her unique background to show her clients how small modifications to daily habits can transform mindsets, enhance personal relationships, and accelerate professional trajectories. Dr. Tovar has helped clients navigate through trauma, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and grief.
