Are you secretly embarrassed by your website? You're not alone.

In this revealing episode of the Commission Code Podcast, host Morris Sims welcomes guest Lindy Nowak, founder of Up In A Day, who uncovers the hidden business blocker affecting countless entrepreneurs: website embarrassment. This powerful conversation exposes how outdated, unattractive, or poorly-functioning websites prevent businesses from launching marketing campaigns, sending traffic to their sites, and ultimately growing their revenue.

Lindy shares her fascinating journey from corporate creative director at brands like L'Oreal and Women's Health to entrepreneurship, explaining how she identified a critical need among small business owners for professional, conversion-driven websites without the typical headaches and high costs. Her company's focus on rapid turnaround isn't just about speed – it's about removing barriers that keep businesses stuck in place when "business waits for no one."

The discussion tackles essential questions every business owner faces: Does everyone truly need a website? How important is strategic messaging? What platforms work best for different business types? Through practical insights, Lindy explains why websites serve as crucial conversion platforms even when initial contact happens elsewhere, and how proper messaging attracts ideal clients while filtering out poor fits.

For those wondering how to drive traffic to a new website, the episode provides actionable strategies from leveraging warm networks to creating valuable content that solves problems for ideal clients. Lindy also unpacks the power of strategic email marketing that educates rather than constantly sells, keeping businesses top-of-mind during the multiple touchpoints of the buyer's journey.

Whether you're a solopreneur frustrated with DIY website attempts or an established business owner whose digital presence no longer reflects your evolution, this episode delivers the framework to transform your website from a source of embarrassment to a powerful business asset that drives growth and builds confidence.

What drives you to do the work you do every day? In this brief but powerful episode, Morris Sims launches a new digital course focused on professional sales training with a fundamental question about purpose. Morris reveals how writing your personal story can bring remarkable clarity and confidence to your business endeavors—a simple yet transformative exercise he's found invaluable in his own journey.

With refreshing candor, Morris shares his own "why" story: he genuinely loves training adults and teaching sales concepts, even though many people find these activities uncomfortable or even distressing. Drawing from personality assessments that consistently show his energy comes from helping others, Morris has found his perfect match in teaching business owners how to increase sales while reclaiming precious time. This authentic connection between his natural strengths and his chosen profession exemplifies exactly what he encourages listeners to discover about themselves.

Most powerfully, Morris redefines professional sales as something entirely different from its negative stereotypes. "Professional sales is not sleazy or pushy or manipulative," he explains. "It is only about helping other people get what they want." This perspective forms the foundation of his upcoming practical online course designed for business owners who need effective sales skills without compromising their values. Whether you're struggling with sales confidence or simply looking to sharpen your approach, Morris offers a refreshing alternative that aligns profit with purpose. Discover how understanding your "why" could be the missing piece in your business success story.

  • Beyond Wishful Thinking: The Strategic Path to Your Business Desires
    2025/07/09

Ever felt stuck on a business plateau despite your best efforts? Overwhelmed by endless tasks with nothing to show for it? Or perhaps your once-successful strategies have mysteriously stopped working? You're not alone—and there's a deceptively simple framework that can transform these common entrepreneurial struggles.

At the heart of business success lies three fundamental principles that not only reduce stress tenfold but dramatically improve effectiveness. First, the Clarity Principle demands honest answers about what you truly want (not what others think you should want), why you want it (with genuine emotional connection), and your strategy for achieving it. This clarity becomes your north star when decisions get tough or motivation wanes.

The Circle of Control Principle then helps you distinguish between what you genuinely control and what merely concerns you. Paired with the Glance-Gaze Principle, you'll learn why focusing on uncontrollable factors magnifies them in your mind, creating unnecessary anxiety and clouding judgment. Instead, by glancing at important concerns while gazing intently at actionable items within your control, you create momentum without the frustration.

Perhaps most transformative is the Goals versus Desires Principle. Goals are fully within your control: you can schedule them, complete them independently, and measure their completion. Desires—like revenue targets or client acquisitions—depend on others' decisions and actions. By focusing on goals that incrementally move you toward desires, you shift from wishful thinking to strategic action.

Ready to implement these principles? Develop a strategic action plan with four key components: a marketing plan making you visible to ideal prospects, a sales system focused on helping clients achieve their objectives, operational systems defining day-to-day functions, and an implementation timeline with specific milestones. This structured approach transforms abstract concepts into concrete steps, providing clear direction while minimizing overwhelm.

What will you do differently after learning these principles? The answer to that question might just be the catalyst that propels your business to new heights of success while giving you more time to enjoy the journey.
