In this week's news, runners flock to a return to racing at the Reunion 5K as part of the government’s Events Research Programme. The running industry noticed a huge spike in running participation during the Covid pandemic. Red Bull reports that the 2021 Wings for Life World Run has set a record as largest run in history.

The organisers of the Dublin Marathon have said they are ‘quietly confident’ that the race ‘has potential’ to take place later this year.  ASICS Europe has reported strong growth and increased profitability.  Trail running and outdoor brand MONTANE have launched a running pack that breaks the mould in design and fit. Jogging Buddy have announced that Paul Owen OBE has been appointed to their Board.

In media news Trail Running magazine has announced its 2021 Awards Winners and the BBC has announced a new Diamond League deal. And a runner named Benjamin Pachev has run 5,000m in 14:47, wearing Crocs!
