  • From Rock Bottom to Rock Star with Joanna Tress
    2025/05/29

In this episode, I got to chill with Joanna Tress, a talented singer-songwriter and composer based in Orlando, Florida. Joanna's journey from rock bottom to rock star is inspiring, and her story is filled with valuable lessons on mindset, personal growth, and creative expression.

After years in a singing career that she loved, Joanna's journey took a significant turn in 2005 when she had the opportunity to perform as the opening act for the legendary pop supergroup Air Supply during their 30-year anniversary tour - an early high mark in her musical career.

But, despite the success on stage, Joanna's personal life was far from glamorous. After the performance, she returned home to a challenging situation as a divorced mother of three, living in public housing and relying on food stamps. After a while she felt disconnected from her original path and struggled with feelings of being lost.

That's when Joanna realized the vast importance of mindset in her journey. Positive thinking and setting achievable goals helped her in her path to regain personal and professional growth.

Now, Joanna has re-found her niche in the arts by creating immersive experiences for women at retreats and exclusive events. She has developed a one-woman show that combines music, storytelling, and artistic expression. By using pre-recorded tracks, she can perform without the need for a full band, making her shows more portable and accessible.

Joanna believes that by creating a positive and nurturing environment, she can help others tap into their own artistic potential and leave feeling inspired and rejuvenated.
