Rise, Reclaim and Step Out After Divorce | Christian, Divorce, Encouragement

  • Are you tired of feeling like you can’t be used by God because you are divorced? Have you set aside your ministry dreams because of your divorce? Have you ever felt judged by the body of Christ because you are divorced? Hi, I’m Dana. Like you or someone you care about, I am a divorced Christian. As a former ministry leader and pastor’s wife, I faced misguided judgment, criticism, and misinformed opinions (often based on faulty theology) within the church. After enduring years of judgment and shame, I chose to spiritually fall asleep. Nearly a decade later, I woke up to the realization that my identity hadn’t changed because of divorce. God’s call on my life remained unchanged. I discovered that the same is true for you. Whether in ministry or the marketplace, your divine calling persists despite divorce. In this podcast you will find encouragement to walk free from judgements from yourself or others, and reclaim your identity. My mission (and I’ve chosen to accept it) is to equip Christian divorced and divorced leadership in the church to rise up, reclaim, and step out into the ministry God place on their heart. If you are ready to say yes to redeeming your life and call - you are in the right place. Join me on a journey to re-remember who and whose you are and reclaim what He has called you to do. I want to hear your story! Dana@redeemed-Identity.com

  • Ep 36, Why Our Self Talk is Keeping Us From Healing From Divorce with Toni Thrash
    2025/01/07

Welcome back to Rise and Reclaim After Divorce! In today’s episode, I’m joined by my dear friend and life coach, Toni Thrash, as we dive into a topic that affects every part of our healing journey: self-talk.

Whether it’s the inner dialogue in our minds or the words we speak over ourselves, our self-talk has the power to either build us up or keep us stuck in cycles of pain. In this conversation, Toni and I unpack:

    • How self-talk can sabotage our healing: Understanding the impact of negative narratives we replay in our minds.
    • The connection between self-talk and our faith: Using the Word of God to transform our thinking and align our thoughts with His truth.
    • Practical tips and resources: Tools and strategies that have helped us rewrite our self-talk, reclaim our joy, and move forward in healing.

We’ll share personal stories, scripture, and actionable advice to help you take back your life and break free from the grip of negative self-talk.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. Recognize toxic self-talk: Learn to identify the lies you’ve been believing about yourself.
    2. Speak life over yourself: Replace negative words with affirmations rooted in God’s promises.
    3. Transform your mind with scripture: Dive into verses that encourage renewal and healing.

    Resources Mentioned:

    • Key Bible verses for renewing your mind: Romans 12:2, Philippians 4:8, and Psalm 139:14.
    • Toni Thrash’s favorite tools for reframing self-talk.
    • Journaling prompts to help shift your inner dialogue.

This episode will leave you encouraged, equipped, and ready to reclaim your healing journey with God at the center.

  • Ep 35, Rebuilding Life After Divorce – My Blueprint for 2025
    2024/12/31

    Episode Summary:

This year has been a revealing season for the Body of Christ, with sin and corruption within churches being uncovered. While it’s heartbreaking, it’s also a reminder that God will not be mocked. Justice is unfolding, and as we prepare for revival, we are called to sanctify ourselves—to separate from what neutralizes us and draw closer to God.

In today’s episode, I reflect on 2024 and share what God has revealed for 2025: It’s time to build. Inspired by the book of Nehemiah, we will dive into rebuilding the areas of our lives ravaged by divorce and its aftermath. This isn’t just groundwork anymore—it’s time to build deeper and stronger.

I also recap Episode 33, where I discussed the importance of having a blueprint for new beginnings and how setting yearly words and scriptures has kept me grounded. If you missed it, be sure to go back and listen!

    1. Reflection on 2024:
    • The importance of righteous judgment in the Body of Christ.
    • Lessons learned and personal growth through journaling.
    Looking Ahead to 2025:
    • Focus on the theme: Build (Nehemiah 2:17).
    • New blueprint for Redeemed-Identity Ministry and personal life.
    Encouragement for Listeners:
    • Seek God’s guidance for your words and scriptures for the year ahead.
    • Embrace new healing, goals, and growth in 2025.
    Preview of Upcoming Episodes:
    • Exciting plans to bring in guests who will speak truth and healing into your lives.

Scripture Highlight: Nehemiah 2:17 “Then I said to them, ‘You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies in waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.’”
