Remember the Good and Hope for Tomorrow (Advent 26)
“When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."
The LORD has done great things for us, and we rejoiced.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like the watercourses in the Negeb.”
(Psalm 126:1-4)
In the midst of difficult and trying times, the ancient song writer remembers the hard times they had overcome and the joy of the victories previously won.
These memories gave them the determination and hope to see their way through to a better tomorrow.
When we are up against it, we must remember the victories of yesterday as we wait, watch, and work for a better tomorrow.
