  • Reclaiming HER Grief: Part 2
    2025/02/03
Layers of Grief and How Grief Shapes Story
Grief can surface the moment a difficult realization sets in.Every loss whether big or small deserves to be acknowledged and honored. In my story, I shared how my inability to grieve for my losses led me to a dark and difficult place. Allowing myself to feel the pain, let it move through my body, and shed the tears I’d been holding back, helped me carry the weight of my losses.

In this episode, I have a heartfelt conversation about grief with my friend Renee Meyer, a hospice chaplain and spiritual director. My hope is that this episode offers you comfort and support on your own healing journey.

(Warning: This episode discusses suicide ideation. Please listen with care.)

In this episode, I share an emotional, raw, and redemptive journey through one of the most challenging seasons of my life.

After leaving my 23-year marriage, marked by psychological and financial abuse, I found myself without a home—moving from place to place with no permanent space to call my own.I’ll take you through how I found solace and support in a missional community outside the walls of a traditional church, and how living with a foster mom and her seven children became an unexpected chapter of healing and connection.

In that season, I learned profound lessons about shared struggles, and the beauty of community,Join me as I reflect on this transformative time in my life and how it reshaped my perspective on faith, hope, community, and the courage it takes to start over.

    2025/01/15
Facing the Truth and Heartbreak: Counseling, Courage, and the Unexpected HelpIn this episode, I share a pivotal chapter in my journey—my steps toward healing through couples and individual counseling and the heartbreaking yet freeing decision to leave my 23-year marriage. I open up about the challenges of navigating therapy in a relationship where real change wasn’t happening. I share the raw truths of what I learned in therapy—how it helped me understand my patterns, recognize the damage, and ultimately make the life-altering decision to leave.I also explore a surprising truth: help doesn’t always come from the places or people you expect. During one of the hardest seasons of my life, I learned to accept support from unlikely sources, a humbling and life-changing experience that taught me the power of community and resilience. Through this story, my hope is to remind you that even when the path to freedom feels uncertain, every small step forward matters, and support can come in the most unexpected ways.About Robrenna ParkerIf you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, if you're in the U.S., contact the National Violence Abuse Hotline at 1 800 799 SAFE, 1 800 799 7233. • Reclaiming HER Story-My Story Part 1: Discovering the Patterns
    2024/12/30
Discovering the Patterns: How Story Work Unveiled Childhood Roles That Shaped My Unhealthy Marriage

In the debut episode of Reclaiming HER Resilience, host Robrenna Parker shares her deeply personal journey of uncovering the patterns that shaped her life through the transformative process of story work. Robrenna reveals how early childhood wounds unconsciously shaped her 23-year marriage, where she found herself trapped in the same dynamics—sacrificing her needs to care for others, absorbing blame, and enduring the emotional toll of a psychologically abusive relationship.

Through story work, she connected the dots between her past and present, uncovering the patterns that kept her stuck. This transformative process gave her the clarity, resilience, and courage to break free and begin rewriting her narrative. Robrenna’s vulnerable storytelling invites women to begin their journey of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment, one story at a time.
