  • Episode 31 Grounded Through the Gut: What Your Root Chakra Really Craves
    2025/03/25

Welcome back to the Professional Women’s Wellness Podcast! In this episode, I’m getting personal and talking about something that might surprise you—how what you eat affects your energy, your emotions, and even your sense of stability.

I was recently invited to speak at a summit that dove into energy fields, chakras, and spiritual health. And honestly? What really lit me up was when they asked me to speak about how food influences our energy—especially through the root and sacral chakras.

Now, if you’re not super familiar with chakras, don’t worry. I keep it simple! Think of the root chakra as your foundation—it's all about feeling grounded, safe, and supported. And the sacral chakra is your center for creativity and emotional flow.

“I never realized how much my grab-and-go meals reflected my life at the time—scattered, stressed, and in full-on survival mode.”

Back when I was a single mom and working as a critical care nurse, I was just trying to get through the day. My food choices? Totally disconnected. It wasn’t until I started learning about holistic wellness that I saw how my eating habits were affecting more than just my waistline—they were messing with my energy.

    In this episode, I share:

🍠 Grounding foods that help you feel calm and centered (think root veggies, warm stews, red fruits, and hearty grains)

🧘‍♀️ Simple ways to eat mindfully, like setting your fork down between bites and actually tasting your food

💧 Why hydration and gentle movement are key to keeping your energy flowing

🌍 And how even one deep breath before a meal can help you feel more rooted in your body

“Every time you eat, you’re not just feeding your body—you’re nourishing your energy.”

If you've ever felt scattered or anxious after eating too fast or skipping meals altogether, you’re not alone. And this episode is for you. It's a gentle nudge to slow down, tune in, and remember that food is so much more than fuel—it's an act of self-love.

So give it a listen and let’s talk about how you can ground your energy and feel more like yourself again… one mindful bite at a time.
