  • SOUTH AFRICAN SPIES TRIED TO COERCE ZAMBIAN SECURITY OFFICIAL INTO SELLING INFORMATION ABOUT ZAMBIAN PUBLIC SECURITY
    2024/08/02

The time is officially 6 gm. This is the no Vaseline podcast at 6 gm. Heyy there, it’s me your host Grace- Marie. Have you ever watched the hunger games? Or read the book? If you have then you will know what I am going to be talking about in a second. There is a character, his name is Finnick. He was hot, very hot and because of him being fresh on the market the president, snow used him to get information about other powerful people in their country called Panem.

People would do anything just to get a good combination of letters, numbers and all these code words. Finnick would sleep with these officials just to get them, other people kill for them and others well, they would run themselves dry just for one line of letters and numbers and symbols. Simple characters that if you guessed well would pay you billions. James Kamasanda knew that, every Zambian official knew that, intelligence departments all over the world knew that, heck everyone wants to know everything about everyone else. They even offered James good money to play Finnick for them and while he was in that hotel in Malawi he was in a powerful and dangerous position. He knew everything that the South Africans wanted.

  • THE STORY OF A ZAMBIAN JAZZ MUSIC LEGEND WHO WAS KILLED BY SOUTHERN RHODESIAN MILITARY
    2023/11/24
WARNING: This episode has some triggering content please listen with discretion. The time is officially 6gm. This is the No Vaseline Podcast @ 6gm. Hey there, it is me, your host Grace-Marie. In this episode, which I consider a tribute episode, we talk about a road that most, if not all, Lusaka residents have used. It hosts some really important buildings and is kind of a main road. Along it there is a Muslim center, a roman catholic cathedral, united nations offices, a recently built fly over bridge that has a little controversy and my favorite structure out of all of them in the area, Long Acres mall, I can even hear angels harmonising as I say it. It is a beautiful place and there is Alibaba supermarket. Who hates Alibaba supermarket? But we are not talking about the history of the mall, our focus is on the person this infrastructure that makes all these places accessible was named after, the jazz music and Zambian Media Legend, Alick Nkhata. As with the last episodes, show notes are available at novaselinepodstudio.com. If you have any information that needs to be corrected, please send me a message and I will gladly add what I have missed out but without further due grab your coffee, tea or sparkling glass of water and let’s get right into it.

  • THE THREE FAILED, PLANNED AND STAGED COUP’DETAT: RECOUNTING EVENTS RELATED TO THE VERY FAMOUS CAPTAIN SOLO, MWAMBA LUCHEMBE AND VALENTINE MUSAKANYA
    2023/10/26
The time is officially 6gm. This is the No Vaseline Podcast @6gm. Hey there, it is me your host Grace-Marie. Happy independence everybody, really cannot believe that it has been 59 years since KK did his thing. Although some may say we are not truly free, at least we are somewhat free, better than being held captive right? Well, with freedom and independence people become quite radical, game changers, abstract thinkers and inevitably history makers, we may celebrate independence for a whole week and still have independence fever for up to 3 days after, but no one in Zambia can celebrate freedom better than the one and only Captain Solo as he did in 1997, executing his freedom to do things quite well. I did not know that this happened and I feel like this is the history that should be taught in school.

A police officer named Chilufya Marvin receives a radio message that officers are needed in Rhodes Park. So, he goes to the station and when he arrived in Rhodes Park there is some commotion, why? Because a man is unconscious at the gate of the legal firm owned by the Chilanga member of Parliament. Who knew that the current ruling party hosted the most action filled, forbidden love story in Zambia. It was all over the news and denizens followed the trial closely because the ones who make the law became subject to it.

  • THE ABDUCTION OF PAMELA CHISUMPA, A PREGNANT WOMAN, TWO JUVENILES AND TEN OTHER GIRLS BY A FORMER CLASSMATE AND ANOTHER HORRIBLE MAN.
    2023/09/08

The time is officially 6gm, this is the No Vaseline Podcast @6 gm. Hey there it’s me your host Grace-Marie and today I have prepared a long one. It is a very current case and the first of its kind to be this popular in my home country. A picture of a missing young woman who is 22 years old is making its rounds on Zambian social media. the first thought I’m sure most people had was, oh no ritual killings have started again because it is still early 2022, its April and the rain season had just ended the time when these kinds of things were common so it could be right? well, a few days later a someone, her boyfriend receives a phone call demanding a ransom of K15,000. That same day a video goes viral of the same woman being hit and begging for her life and for her family to send the money.

  • SHE ROBBED THE BANK AT LUNCH TIME FOUR YEARS AGO AND STILL HAS NOT BEEN CAUGHT PAMELA WHY?
    2023/07/28
A woman was the talk of not the community, not the city, not the province but the entire country and maybe even beyond. I mean the first-time real things are happening in the country, in Lusaka and this even took place less than 15km away from my school so we got the news quick and probably before others. I imagine one of our teachers went to the bank that day and couldn’t withdraw anything because they had been robbed. It felt so unreal, like this is probably just a rumor, a cautionary tale for bank tellers and people with bank accounts, except it wasn’t. By lunch time everyone in the school was talking about the robbery at Longacres that took place in broad daylight. As with the last episodes, show notes are available at novaselinepodstudio.com. if you have any information that needs to be corrected, please send me a message and but without further due grab your coffee, tea or water and let’s get right into it.

  • Passed on and passing on: conserve the culture
    2023/05/31
Hey there, it's me Grace-Marie. In this episode, I talk about passed on; the things that have been handed down to us for generations from our ancestors pre and post colonialism and passing on; whatever we have to pass on to future generations. I also talk about why some of our culture was lost and how we can salvagw what is left As always I give you a bit of my opinion on how you could conserve the culture small scale. Learning sociology and Social psychology really opened my eyes to the cultural dialema that we have, of course the culture is evolving but we should preserve the beautiful and resourceful aspects, right? #staypaired
