A picture of a missing young woman who is 22 years old is making its rounds on Zambian social media. the first thought I’m sure most people had was, oh no ritual killings have started again because it is still early 2022, its April and the rain season had just ended the time when these kinds of things were common so it could be right? well, a few days later a someone, her boyfriend receives a phone call demanding a ransom of K15,000. That same day a video goes viral of the same woman being hit and begging for her life and for her family to send the money.
