    Today we're taking a break from our series on lying to explore the liberating concepts of faith, cord cutting, and not giving a fuck anymore—where true freedom lives when we're tired of explaining ourselves or hoping others will finally see us.

    • Faith isn't the kind you might have been forced to accept growing up, but the messy, grounded faith that chooses you before knowing the outcome
    • True faith means saying yes to alignment and no to disrespect, even when your voice shakes
    • Cord cutting recognizes that some connections aren't connections—they're chains that keep us bound
    • Release relationships that no longer serve you with love and finality, whether they're exes, expired friendships, or family members who make you feel small
    • Not caring what people think isn't rebellion—it's self-preservation
    • Remember that no one is really thinking about you as much as you believe; everyone is caught up in their own lives
    • You don't need to explain your healing or justify your boundaries to anyone
    • The most authentic parts of yourself are the best parts; the edited version is harder to maintain
    • Care deeply about your peace, joy and purpose rather than others' opinions

    We explore the beginning of our eight-week series on emotional honesty, examining why we lie to ourselves and others, and how these deceptions impact our physical health and emotional wellbeing. Uncovering the roots of dishonesty reveals how we've been conditioned to prioritize deception over truth in certain situations, creating misalignment between our authentic selves and the image we project.

    • Speaking truth is more powerful than lying, though we often believe the opposite
    • We lie to avoid facing consequences or when we're not ready to take action
    • Half-truths allow us to feel partially honest while still being deceptive
    • Physical consequences of lying include weight gain, skin problems, hair loss, and sleep issues
    • Mental effects include forgetfulness, irritability, and developing unhealthy coping mechanisms

    • Identifying specific relationships or topics where we tend to lie reveals our patterns

    It's time to shake things off after weeks of deep work exploring purpose, shame, settling, and processing difficult emotions like anger. This week is about opposites - saying yes to something you'd normally decline and no to something you'd typically accept.

    • Set your timer for three minutes and freely write whatever comes to mind
    • Embrace Isaiah 43:18-19 - "See, I am doing a new thing... making a way in the wilderness"
    • Try something new this week - a different route home, line dancing, paddleboarding on a weeknight
    • Challenge yourself to dine alone, attend events solo, or try karaoke
    • Journal about which was harder - saying an unusual yes or an unusual no
    • Focus your intentions like threading a needle - remove distractions to create something new
    • Remember Eleanor Roosevelt's advice to "do one thing every day that scares you"

    Anger often serves as a secondary emotion that masks our deeper feelings and needs, especially when we've suppressed our true emotions or allowed our boundaries to be crossed for too long.

    • Journaling helps uncover emotions beneath anger like feeling disrespected, embarrassed, or unheard
    • Bible verses like Psalms 37:8 remind us that unchecked anger rarely leads to positive outcomes
    • We often get angry when we've been tolerating disrespect or boundary violations for extended periods
    • Physical sensations like chest tightness, stomach dropping, or feeling "electrocuted" signal rising anger
    • Understanding if you're a "thunderstorm" (need immediate resolution) or "turtle" (need space to process) helps manage conflict
    • Healthy anger involves getting curious about what your anger is trying to tell you
    • Naming where you feel anger in your body can help you recognize and address it earlier
    • The ultimate question: "What part of me is finally ready to be heard and protected by my own voice?"

  • Battling the Settling Trap

    We explore why we settle for less than we deserve in relationships, jobs, and life situations, examining how journaling can help us recognize patterns and reconnect with our true desires.

    • Settling often stems from not believing we're worthy of better options
    • Fear of the unknown and change keeps us in uncomfortable but familiar situations
    • We often don't realize we're settling until well past the honeymoon phase
    • Staying in situations where we've settled creates anger, resentment, and loss of self
    • Being "impeccable with your word" requires aligning your actions with your stated desires
    • Writing down what you want creates a contract with yourself
    • Your body signals when you're settling through depletion and exhaustion
    • Regular journaling helps unblock creativity and clarify what you truly want
    • Telling yourself "I love you" can help heal abandonment wounds
    • Journal prompts: "I am," "I receive," "I trust," "I will," and "I allow"

    Set aside 3-5 minutes daily for journaling and notice how it helps you recognize where you're settling and what changes you need to make.
