A proposed “bike network” to connect the city

  • サマリー

  • This week On The Record with Randy Beamer looks at the city’s Bike Network Plan, the Edwards Aquifer Level, and the latest developments around a downtown baseball stadium and new Spurs arena.

Paul Bertetti with the Edwards Aquifer Authority explains how we begin 2025 with the second lowest reading ever for the aquifer. He also shares how species protection -from the blind salamander to the golden cheek warbler- also works to protect our water supply.

The city has spent two years working on a bike plan that will add miles and miles of bike lanes to city streets. Harley Hubbard, Project Manager for the “Bike Network Plan” lays out the details on where we will see new bike lanes and what the cost will be.

County Commissioners this week voted to create the “San Pedro Creek Authority”- a governmental authority that will oversee a taxing district to fund the proposed baseball stadium near the San Pedro Cultural Creek. Michael Karlis, Staff reporter for the SA Current, fills in the blanks on this and new movement along the plan to build a new Spurs arena on the other side of downtown.

On The Record airs 7 p.m. Thursdays. Watch on-air (channel 9.1) or online via the PBS app and on our Facebook page. Watch all past episodes by visiting https://video.klrn.org/show/klrn-on-the-record/
