Perry did get some unexpected news in the last month (not his health). Maybe you can relate. When this happens we can freak out or we can make some powerful Jesus-shaped choices, beginning with, “It’s OK to be human.”

Life can get dark. It can be like walking through such thick fog, you can’t even see your hand in front of your face. The life of faith means following God especially when we don’t know where we’re going!

How do we hold the tension that life is hard, and that God is good? Jesus models this so well. The day before He was crucified, he told his disciples “In this world you will have trouble.” But he didn’t stop there. He told them what to do with the hard.

Shawna admits that when she knows what’s coming she feels like she’s in control. She hyper plans, then becomes a slave to her schedule instead of the master of it. All in pursuit of peace. Yet true peace is found in letting go of control and surrendering to God’s plan.
