One of Britain's most prolific authors, Horowitz is known for his children’s fiction, such as the Alex Rider series, his mystery novels including Magpie Murders, as well as being a screenwriter and creator of series such as Midsomer Murders and BAFTA winning Foyle's War. We’ll be chatting with Anthony Horowitz about Close to Death, the fifth installment in his Hawthorne and Horowitz detective series. We will be asking how Horowitz how he decides when he’s got a good idea, what the move from children’s to adult’s fiction was like, and why he chose to write a series with himself as a character.

Having approached ITV with a television script, written in his spare time, he was asked instead to be the face of a British Judge Judy-esque show, thus Judge Rinder was born.

Theroux began his career in America working on Michael Moore's TV Nation, and from this sprang his Weird Weekends (1998-2000) where Theroux spent time on porn sets, with swingers, body builders and white supremacists, to name but a few. Then came the hugely popular series When Louis Met..., in which Theroux spent time with the likes of Max Clifford, Chris Eubank and Jimmy Savile.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to discuss her 13th installment of the hugely successful Tom Gates series, Epic Adventure (Kind Of), is British publishing sensation Liz Pichon. Joining us at a riverside London hotel is Dame Julie Andrews, DBE, an English actress, singer and author. She has now released her second memoir, Home Work. Born in Surrey in 1935, Andrews parents divorced and she originally lived with her father, then moved back to live with her mother and stepfather. Her stepfather was turbulent, but he sponsored her voice lessons, and from 1945 Andrews began performing with her mother and stepfather unbilled.

The expectation used to be that men would be masculine and women would be feminine, and this was assumed to come naturally to them in virtue of their biology. On this view, sex is gender and gender is sex. A new view of gender has emerged in recent years, a view on which gender is an "identity," a way that people feel about themselves in terms of masculinity or femininity, regardless of their sex. On this view, sex is dismissed as unimportant, and gender is made paramount.
