The Golden tract: Concerning the Philosopher's Stone is a must-hear for any serious student of alchemy. It describes the true synthesis of the Philosopher's Stone in classic medieval alchemical symbolism. Originally published in the Musaeum Hermeticum (1625) and later translated into English by Arthur Edward Waite in his The Hermetic Museum, Vol. I (1893), this version of the text has been diligently edited and recorded by Jones so that it can be easily digested by modern listeners.

Linked to both the Greek god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth, Hermes Trismegistus is credited, through legend, with thousands of mystical and philosophical writings of high standing, each reputed to be of immense antiquity. During the Renaissance, a collection of such writings known as The Corpus Hermeticum greatly inspired the thought of philosophers, alchemists, artists, poets, and even theologians.

The lectures here presented in book form were first written in 20 lectures and delivered during the month of November 1908 in Columbus, Ohio, by Max Heindel. He also mimeographed them and distributed copies to all who attended his lectures.

Ascribe the work to Georgius Aurach de Argentina (sometimes Anrach) and date it to 1475. There are versions in Latin, German, French, and Italian, and one in English in the British Library.

This is an ancient alchemy manuscript. Artephius (Artefius) (c. 1150) is a writer and alchemist to whom a number of alchemical texts are ascribed. Alchemical pseudepigraphy makes it difficult to identify who the historical Artephius may have been. His identity remains an open question. As The Secret Book of Artephius was respected and mentioned by Roger Bacon many times, Artephius' writing and alchemy is dated to around 1150.
