Welcome back to the “Hey, Wait” Podcast, hosted by embodiment coach, educator, and author Jay Moon Fields. Each episode we’ll be sharing stories, insights, interviews, and practical tools to help you shift how you show up in your relationships, and in your life.

In today’s episode, Jay Moon Fields is joined by Somatic Therapist, Social Worker, and Founder of Somatic Therapy Partners, Maira Holzmann. Maira’s work with Somatic and Psychedelic Therapy brings her clients to incredible breakthroughs, many of whom have struggled to find help through traditional therapeutic outlets.

Maira’s “Hey, Wait” moment came when she was driving through a fancy neighborhood and felt a whisper suggesting “You Belong Here.” She grew up as an immigrant, and constantly felt the desire to be a person of status within society. It was when she finally felt comfortable in herself, in her family, and in her surroundings, that she was truly able to embrace her wisdom and her career.

Understanding Somatic Therapy goes hand in hand with saying “Hey, Wait.” As soon as you are able to pause and soften your body, you are totally able to refocus your mind, reclaim your moment, and move into a more productive headspace. In an absolutely can’t miss episode, you’ll get a collection of tips that you can immediately implement into your own “Hey, Wait” journey, such as “Joy Spotting,” “Facial Softening,” and more.

  • Your First Questions & Your Second Steps | #6
    2025/05/29

Welcome back to the “Hey, Wait” Podcast, hosted by embodiment coach, educator, and author Jay Moon Fields. Each episode we’ll be sharing stories, insights, interviews, and practical tools to help you shift how you show up in your relationships, and in your life.

In today’s episode, Jay Moon Fields returns solo to the mic, answering listener questions for the first time as she dives deeper into the essential– yet often challenging– Second Step of the “Hey, Wait” process.

Emily, a listener of the podcast, recently faced an upsetting moment at choir practice when someone took her stand without asking. Many of us have been in situations where we later wished we had spoken up, asserted ourselves, or found our voice. In this episode, Jay uses Emily’s story as a starting point to explore somatic experiencing– a practice that uses imagination to unlock bodily sensations– and explains how it can help Emily (and you!) move forward with more agency.

As we learned in Episode One, the “Hey, Wait” process has three key steps. Today, we focus on Step 2: Pausing– the moment you stop reacting and start tuning into your inner experience. It’s a deceptively difficult practice, requiring you to actually feel what’s going on inside. Jay breaks it down with clarity and compassion, offering real tools to help you integrate this step into your own life.

And Hey, Wait! Before you go, make sure to subscribe to the “Hey, Wait” Podcast so you can follow along with every new episode as soon as it is released. And be sure to connect with Jay Moon Fields on her website (jaymoonfields.com/) and across all social media platforms (instagram.com/heywaitwithjay/) so you can submit your questions to the Podcast.
