  • Murewa Ayodele: Who is Storm Hooking Up With? - Uncanny X-Men 313
    2025/08/14

Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future.

This week we have the extremely talented Murewa Ayodele on the show to talk about everything current and upcoming in the STORM solo series he's writing!

We get into the winding path of his becoming a comic writer, tears and all, and what motivated him to write Storm as powerfully as she is right now (spoiler: it's anger). Murewa was born in the midst of the Phalanx introduction (Uncanny X-Men 313) so we also discuss:

    • how long superheroes can hold their breath underwater
    • Bishop is the Hulk now
    • the best way to take out the Phalanx is with a standard issue pole
    • everyone is joining the Phalanx these days (looking at you, Douglock)
    • you can be mad at Lodro about his Scottish accent or his lack of Star Trek knowledge, but not both

All this plus how the core of the Storm series is about her autonomy. What does any of this mean for Murewa's future? Tune in to find out (nailed the horoscope this time, friends!)

Murewa Ayodele is a recipient of the (Lagos Comic Con 2023) FIST AWARD for WRITER OF THE DECADE and is the writer of the Nommo-nominated comic book series, NEW MEN, the critically acclaimed webcomic series, MY GRANDFATHER WAS A GOD, the popular AKOGUN: BRUTALIZER OF GODS graphic novel, and several Marvel comics like MOON KNIGHT: BLACK WHITE & BLOOD, AVENGERS UNLIMITED INFINITY COMIC, I AM IRON MAN, X-MANHUNT: OMEGA, and, of course, STORM.

He is also the co-founder of Collectible Comics NG, a Nigerian comic book studio founded with artist Dotun Akande that was nominated in the COMIC STUDIO OF THE YEAR category at the 2018 FIST AWARDS. Murewa has worked as a professional comic book writer for almost a decade, with over 10 comic book titles under his belt and can be found on Instagram and Bluesky.

  • Clarke Whitehead: Kitty Pegged Nightcrawler - Uncanny X-Men 153
    2025/08/07

Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future.
This week we have special guest Clarke Whitehead, co-host of the fantastic Homo Superior podcast whose parents had the good sense to birth him on the date of the release of Kitty's Fairy Tale. Yep, what better bedtime story for a terrified 9 year-old to receive than to hear about how Dark Phoenix ate a sun and the adults around her were powerless to stop her?

    Also in Kitty's Fairytale:

    • Clarke is basically Sage
    • Our brand new segment: "Bro, why would you even say that?"
    • Clarke's original creation, Jumbles
    • The X-plane is jerk dragon
    • Wolverine is the best there is at what he does and he doesn’t like feeling silly
    • Kitty brags about wet dreams to her teammates
    • horny Bamfs

All this plus Wolverine as the Tasmanian devil. Unlike Illyana, you will not be put to sleep with this week's episode. What does any of it mean for Clarke's future? Tune in to find out!

Clarke Whitehead grew up right across the river from Washington DC, absorbing politics and history like a sponge. He is a theatre teacher and dramaturg, having studied in London and Galway, Ireland. He has a voracious appetite for entertainment from Asian reality dating shows, European Cold War dramas, and Anglophone Soap Operas to Turner Classic Movies, Sims Twitch Streams, and – obviously - X-Men comics. When Homo Superior was in it’s planning stages, Clarke was to feature in the weekly segment “Clarke’s Corner,” where he would spill his unorthodox or unpopular takes in an Andy Rooney style of off-kilter ranting. As the podcast's resident character historian, he keeps everyone updated on what Catseye has been up to.
