The TIDA is a pivotal piece of legislation designed to combat the devastating impact of non-consensual intimate imagery including deep fake porn. It makes it a federal crime to knowingly publish these images, compels online platforms to remove the images in 48 hours and solves the problem of inconsistent state laws. Though legislation is still working on the many legalities of these tools/services, I think we are all in agreement that it is a step forward in safeguarding individuals from the trauma and violation with non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
