*This episode originally aired on November 11, 2020 on YouTube.
This episode developed in the last few months of 2020, as the pandemic was still taking the lives of so many, leaving the ones left behind to grapple with the aftermath of what happens when they lose a loved one.
The suffering came directly to the microphone in this episode, as just two months earlier, Kyle's father, Coy Leon Henderson, passed away. Recorded just a month after his passing, Fr. Davies holds compassionate space for Kyle, while also connecting Kyle's experience, and the experience of so many hundreds of thousands of people that lost loved ones during the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, to the universal message and enduring hope that we can find in the midst of suffering.
Though this episode was timely at the time of its release, it stands the test of time as the two hosts explore ways to cope with whatever suffering people might be experiencing in their lives, and they discuss ways they can use theology to persevere and come out the other side, stronger.
