What a litany of statements. These are all CAUSE-and-EFFECT statements, natural laws- the WAY THINGS WORK: IF ‘A’ THEN ‘B’. If you put your hand into fire, you WILL GET BURNED. God has always forewarned us, He wants to make sure that people know that CHOICES have CONSEQUENCES and God wants none to perish. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Pet 3:9) God has a plan and He has YOUR PLAN. He promises us, HE HAS THIS, we just need to have FAITH. Faith has consequences, it allows us to be all that God has intended for us to be! “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. (Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 2:10) Believing God’s WORD is called Faith! Without Faith it is impossible to please God. The Consequences of FAITH, pays huge dividends in the Kingdom of God and allows us to be used for God’s purpose NOW!

While in Prison for those 4 days Mr. Black got to be a part of a process that helps those behind prison walls to emerge into a better space: Mentally, Spiritually and Hopefully. On Todays Hour of Power, Mr. Black will talk about how we get into the mental space where our lives take turns to bring us to a PRISON. Millions are in prisons around the country- physical structures that confine their movement and remove their choices. Many millions more are free of physical walls, but incarcerated by Emotional, Psychological and Spiritual prisons of their own doing. Today Mr. Black will share the power of struggle and the consequences of our choices. It is said, ‘Two men sit behind bars. One sees mud, the other sees stars”. Perspective becomes reality. What is lacking in today’s chaotic world is Emotional Intelligence. People can’t move through conflict, they can’t forgive, never forget, and keep a pound of flesh and a record of wrong. We won’t socialize with someone who votes differently than we do, and we judge others by their external features; The color of the skin, their sexual preference, who they vote for! It is a mess! To quote Rodney King, “Can’t we all just get a long?” What is lacking is EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE. Emotional intelligence is now seen as a “need to have” ingredient in the makeup of leaders. One of the early purveyors of the concept of EQ (Emotional Intelligence), Dan Goleman says this about EQ: “Without emotional intelligence, a person can have the best training in the world, an incisive, analytical mind, and an endless supply of smart ideas, but he still won’t make a great leader.” Goleman identified five elements of our make-up that we could attribute to emotional intelligence: 1-Self Awareness – How much do we understand about our own moods, states, and emotions. 2-Self Regulation – How good are we at thinking before we act? 3- Motivation – How strong is your desire to relentlessly pursue your goals? 4-Empathy – How easy do we find it to see another person’s point of view? How much do we understand about the emotional make-up of other people? 5-Social Skills – How easily are you able to build rapport and find common ground to effectively manage your relationships? Today on Like It Matters Radio Mr. Black wants listeners to consider a Grand Question, “Which one are you gonna be?” Life is about choices, and about what we do with the consequences of those choices. If we are going to be honest let’s admit; 1- Life aint no fair. 2- Life Is Hard. The Bible says that a righteous man will stumble 7 times but get back up. The wicked will stumble into ruin. We cannot control what happens to us in life, but we can choose how we respond. We experience life once, then we codify our experiences in memories that are stored in pictures, words, feelings, smells and tastes. There is a saying that illustrates this concept of choices. “Two men sit behind bars. One sees mud, the other sees stars”. Dr. Viktor Frankl the great Austrian Psychotherapist, the founder of the Will to Meaning, and Logo Therapy said, “Between the stimulus and the response there is a space. IN that space is your power and your freedom, your liberty.” Today Mr. Black will use the real-life situation of Team 892 in Las Vegas. We had 8 people scheduled for a life changing event. At the end of the training, there were only 5 people that were still there and living life like it matters! This is a situation that plays out millions of times daily and people use their consequences to play victim, to covet and to blame the world for their choices. We are better than this!
