This paper, 'Democratising the Teaching of US Politics' was given by Peter Finn of Kingston University on Sept 13th 2023.
Drawing from a recent book chapter 'Democratising teaching: student votes and module case studies' published in the Active Learning Network volume '100 Ideas for Active Learning' (University of Sussex Open Press, 2022), in this workshop Dr Pete Finn will present a method for allowing student to feed into decisions around module content.
- This talk was part of the series USPOL 101, which aims to share best practice in the teaching of US politics.
- USPOL 101 is a series of online events running through the 2023-24 academic year sharing best practice in the teaching of US politics.
- USPOL 101 is hosted by Kingston University, London, and the American Politics Group of the Political Studies Association: https://ukpsaapg.co.uk/
- Sessions are one hour, online, and held on Teams.
- Sessions can be based on published work, works in progress, or a method you feel is worth sharing.
