👰 The Honeymoon That Turned Into a Nightmare
Raja (29) and Sonam (27) got married on May 11, 2025, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Just nine days later, on May 20, they left for their honeymoon in the lush, scenic state of Meghalaya. Like many Indian honeymoon couples, they were drawn to the natural beauty of Cherrapunji and its famous living root bridges.

But hidden behind the greenery and fog was a brutal plan. The newlywed couple reached Nongriat on May 22 and stayed at a forest homestay. On May 23, they set off to trek back without a local guide—a decision that later became a key detail in solving the case.

Around 10 AM, witnesses saw Raja walking with three unidentified men, while Sonam trailed behind them. That would be the last time anyone saw Raja alive.

🚨 The Disappearance and Search Begins
On May 24, their rented scooter was found abandoned near a cafe in Sohrarim village. Raja's family in Indore grew frantic. His phone was unreachable since May 23. His brother, Prince Raghuvanshi, contacted the police, and a massive manhunt began across the rugged terrain of Cherrapunji.

Heavy rains and harsh terrain made the search difficult, but the police remained determined. Days later, on June 2, a drone spotted a body near the Wei Sawdong waterfalls. It was Raja. Identified by a tattoo on his hand, his corpse was found next to a blood-stained knife and a broken phone. His murder was no longer a mystery—it was cold, calculated, and brutal.

💔 A Shocking Twist – The Wife Confesses
Just as the nation mourned the tragedy, the case took an even more disturbing turn. On June 8, Sonam Raghuvanshi, who had been missing since the murder, surrendered to police in Uttar Pradesh. Her confession stunned everyone—Sonam admitted to planning her husband's murder.

According to police reports, she was in a relationship with Raj Kushwaha, a man from her past. Unable to break free from her affair, she allegedly hired three contract killers from Madhya Pradesh—Akash Rajpoot, Vikas, and Anand—to murder Raja during the honeymoon.

The killers followed the couple to Meghalaya and attacked Raja during their trek. Sonam allegedly coordinated the location and timing, turning what should have been a romantic trek into a carefully orchestrated murder spot.
