Greg Dowdy gives us the lesser-known story behind the famous hymn, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus. This hymn holds a tender place in the hearts of many believers. The gentle appeal and tender rebuke urge you to look away from all else and simply “Turn your eyes upon Jesus.”

However, few know that this call to fix our eyes on Christ was written by a blind woman, Helen Lemmel.
