.Jesus reveals the most public of the 7 signs in John by raising Lazarus from the dead in front of the village of Bethany. Then he declares another of the 7 "I am" statements - I am the Resurrection and the Life.

Jesus not only moves among the suffering and grief we experience, but also experienced pain and loss Himself. This teaching explores the way Jesus sees and loves Mary, Martha and Lazarus. But more importantly, how Jesus waits and asks us to trust His timing for the miracle.

Jesus continues with his dialogue with the religious leaders, but the tension increases and so does the hatred they have for Him. He proclaims truth, but this creates conflict and problems with those in power.

Jesus uses the illustration of a shepherd and sheep, a door to a sheep pen to point to who He is and why He came. Pastor Jerry expounds on these thoughts and reminds us that these 2 "I Am" statements paint a greater picture of Christ's servant leadership, and how Satan's style is completely opposite - the enemy steals, kills and destroys, but Jesus came so we might have abundant life!

The blind that was healed received his sight, but was cast out of the temple. Jesus sought him out and had an important conversation with him about His identity as the Son of Man and why He had come.

When a blind man gets healed, he runs into the temple and finds out the leaders are angry. Not only do they want to argue and press him, they end up kicking him out of the temple!

Pastor Jerry unpacks this part of John 9, and rebukes the religious leaders for their legalism and rules that they placed on others, but don't want to follow themselves.
