The mystery behind a journey is what lays at the end and this is what brings a certain allure to whoever journeys.

As christian, we seek after that which we can’t see but to us is more tangible than ever. We seek after God who first sought after us; He loved us . It so necessary that learn what it means look for the face of God.

To have everything go as planned, to be able to determine at least the faucets of our own lives... this is one thing that most teenagers moving into adults yearn for. A life without the restrictions of someone breathing over your shoulder and the truth is this is what makes it different. When we actually grow up and we feel those reins slipping out of our hands, we don't like it one bit. We don't like the feeling that it presents and this is why most people strive for independence and even though we don't realise, we can unconsciously drag this feeling of independence into our walk with God.

Growing up, I never quite understood Palm Sunday, Lent or Pentecost, as with several of the religious celebrations that we had. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the festivities that came with it but missed out on the reason for the season.

However as I have grown, I have come to see just how important it is to understand why we gather - or should I say who we gather for especially when it comes to Easter and the period before it. It’s a sacred observation but one that should move from being a thing we are mindful of for a few days unto something that transcends counting down.
