Episode 32: The Wolfman’s Grave: Werewolf Legends of Pennsylvania’s Forgotten Counties
In this shadowy tale from Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, we dig into one of the state’s most chilling legends: the lost grave of a werewolf said to rest near Schwaben Creek, beneath the watchful presence of Himmel Church, its old cemetery, and a covered bridge steeped in silence.
Local lore tells of “Die Woolf Man’s Grob”—The Wolfman’s Grave—a burial site now vanished from maps and memory. Here, a solitary figure known only as the Hermit Werewolf was once laid to rest, where his shack crumbled long ago. The Paul family tombstones still stand in the nearby cemetery, but the werewolf’s grave has been lost to time. Still, whispers say a phantom gray wolf prowls the area, eyes glowing under moonlight, leaving pawprints where no beast should tread.
Our own Steven had a brush with this spectral predator one night under a pale moon, and in this episode, we unpack that encounter along with other Pennsylvania werewolf stories, stretching beyond Northumberland to forgotten corners of the state.
Join the Slice of the Paranormal team as we track down shape-shifters, haunted hollows, and long-buried truths.
