  • THE CHAIR (S1/Ep14) — The Very Angry Letter

    Hello Beautiful People,

    I’m Your Host Dreme.

I’m a Black woman, an educator turned tech entrepreneur but still an educator. Building a platform called THE CHAIR is a Black and Brown centered tech platform dedicated to supporting people on their hair journey. You can design hairboards, connect to hair stylists, and share hair care tips all in one space for a more joyous and streamlined experience. I built THE CHAIR Podcast to highlight hair journeys. A reminder to keep creating magic. As people sit in THE CHAIR you will get more than just hair stories. You will be immersed into experiences surrounding education, entrepreneurship, and identity. Enjoy listening to my stories and stories of my guests as we sit in THE CHAIR.

THE CHAIR (S1/Ep14) — The Very Angry Letter

Sereen and I met at UCLA in our Teacher Education Program. She is a wife, a mom, an AVID reader, a gardener, and scared of bugs and insects. Sereen identifies as Palestinian and Japanese. She is currently teaching 6th graders. This episode we explore how Sereen's racial and gender identities show up in the classroom. Learn about what teaching history looks like from her perspective, the lens she carries. Here her advice to future educators and book recommendations to continue opening your mind to identities and experiences that are different from your own. Come listen to Sereen as she sits in THE CHAIR. Let's remember, we are not free until we are all free.
