From expenses to savings, we dive deep into our story; a situation shared by almost every newly married couple in the world.

  • EP05 - Disasters, The Big One, Emergency Preparedness
    2025/03/31

Our very first video podcast episode!

In this episode, talk about our personal experience with natural disasters, and the wave of earthquakes that hit British Columbia in the first quarter of 2025. Are these earthquakes interconnected? Is the Big One just around the corner? Are you prepared?

Honestly, we're not sure and we are by no means experts on this topic. Fear mongering aside; however, being disaster ready should always be a top priority and there's no better time to get prepared than right now.

Wherever you are listening from, and whatever time it may be, we hope you are experiencing all the love you deserve for being your awesome self!

  • EP04 - Filipino Childhood, Punishments & Independence
    2025/03/23

In this episode, we talk about and compare our Filipino upbringing vs. the Western upbringing we see in Canada. Hershey is a licensed early childhood educator and provides care for young children full-time. Having had a Filipino upbringing and now a licensed childcare professional, one difference she has noticed is how the Filipino upbringing puts emphasis on obedience and punishment while here in Canada, emphasis is on independence and self expression.

In the latter part of the episode, we share a personal story that still haunts us from childhood (possibly due to trauma). If you grew up in the Philippines, you probably had a similar experience. An experience shared by many Filipinos around the world that most of us probably just laugh and joke about now. But honestly... we may need to go to therapy!

Jokes aside, wherever you are in the world listening to this podcast, thank you for your support and we hope you have a good day/week!

Tune in to this episode where we talk about our move-in experience after marriage, the big adjustments we had to make, and the lessons we learned in this stress, but fun, stage in our relationship.

  • EP02 - Ano ang Bagay na Hindi mo Kakasawaan?
    2025/03/11

So ano nga ba?

So what is it? In the many things we can do in the world, surely, there are many that we'll get sick of doing. But just because someone gets sick of doing something, doesn't mean others will too. In this episode we share a little bit more about ourselves and discuss one thing that we will probably never get tired of doing over and over again.

We hope you enjoyed listening to our conversation, and a question we have for you to reflect on is, "what is something you will never get tired of doing over and over again?" Let us know in the comments!

  • EP01 - Welcome to our podcast
    2025/03/04

Our pilot episode! This episode was recorded in late January and we were holding off on actually launching this mini project.

In this episode, we first discuss our zodiac signs according to the Lunar calendar. She's sign is a pig, and Mau's sign is a dog. We don't know about you, but for us, our zodiac signs definitely reflects us. What's your sign?

In the latter part of the episode, we reflect on a personal learning that has changed our mindset and outlook on life as Filipino-Canadian millennials in Canada. The concept of effective communication is something that we believe to be lacking in the Filipino culture as there is a tendency for Filipinos to downplay serious topics or avoid them at all.

Through the years, She has learned the importance of being a good listener to those around her. Although she can not relate to all of her peer's experiences, having an open ear helps her understand and sympathize with them. On the other hand, Mau has learned the importance of speaking up for oneself in the workplace to express concerns and set boundaries to foster respect.

We hope you enjoyed listening to our conversation, and a question we have for you to reflect on is, "what is something that took you a long time to learn or understand?" Let us know in the comments!

    Happy listening!
