  • Reflecting on All-Ireland final heartbreak
    2025/08/13

ON THIS week's podcast, we are joined by Ger McCarthy to look back on what was a disappointing day for the Cork camogie team.

A 1-14 to 1-13 loss to Galway in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland senior camogie final ended their three-in-a-row bid.

We reflect on Galway’s tenacity, Cork’s first-half struggle, the Rebels’ second-half fightback and some questionable refereeing calls.

We look forward too as Ger Manley’s team will be gunning to claim back the O’Duffy Cup in 2026 with Galway no doubt having no plans to let it go.

  • Nicola Tuthill on U23 European and World University silver medals
    2025/08/06

ON THIS week's podcast, we catch up with Kilbrittain hammer-thrower Nicola Tuthill after a few successful weeks of action.

Tuthill is enjoying the most prolific spell of her young career: silver medals at both the European U23 Championships and World University Games.

That was followed by a successful defence of her national title last weekend, with a new personal best of 71.75m added in.

At only 21 years of age, she is making serious strides.

Also on the show, we reflect on the news that John Cleary will be staying on for another two years as Cork senior football manager.

The Castlehaven man will be going into his fifth season as Rebels boss in 2026.

We look forward to the All-Ireland senior camogie final too as Cork chase the three-in-a-row when they face Galway on Sunday in Croke Park (5.15pm).

  • Club championship round one review
    2025/07/30

ON THIS week's podcast, we wrap up the first weekend of the McCarthy Insuarnce Group Cork football championship.

In the premier SFC, Clonakilty and Carbery Rangers started with defeats but there were wins for Castlehaven and Newcestown to start their campaigns with a bang.

In senior A, O’Donovan Rossa could only manage a draw while Dohenys were narrowly defeated by Bishopstown.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Castletownbere, Ilen Rovers, Adrigole and Gabriel Rangers.

Back to inter-county and the Cork camogie team are through to a fifth All-Ireland final in-a-row after seeing off Waterford 1-21 to 1-11.

It is going to be a Cork v Galway decider for the second year running.

The minor LGFA team won an All-Ireland this week after defeating Dublin with some key West Cork involvements.

We’ll also chat (briefly) about the editors’ home county as Kerry won their 39th All-Ireland title.
