  • Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist
    2025/06/21

This is a discussion between Matt Cochrane & I about Buffett: The Making of anAmerican Capitalist by Roger Lowenstein.

This was the first biography of Warren Buffett, published in 1995, and it remains one of the best.

It was written when Buffett was already an investing legend, one of the wealthiest men in the world, and well-known in the investing community. However, it was before Buffett was a mainstream celebrity. It remains the best biography of Warren Buffett ever written.

  • Buffettology
    2025/05/07

In this podcast, Matt Cochrane and I discuss Buffettology, a book written in the late 1990’s by Mary Buffett.

She wrote this book about what she learned about Buffett’s investing methods from when she was married to Peter Buffett. I think that the book is a pretty good summary of Buffett’s investing approach, especially for people that are unfamiliar with it.

This was one of the first books I read about Warren Buffett when I first started to get interested in value investing. For Buffett aficionado’s, a lot of the insights might seem pretty basic, but I think that’s the point. It really distills Buffett’s philosophy into a very accessible way.
