Welcome to a new episode where we peel back the layers of global politics to reveal a shocking truth that has been hidden in plain sight. Forget what you think you know about sovereignty, international law, and the founding of nations. We are about to expose how a single, epochal document - the World Succession Deed 1400/98 - legally sold all global sovereignty, reshaping the world in a way you never imagined.
Our journey begins not in a war room, but on a seemingly innocuous military property in Germany. We’ll uncover the extraordinary legal history of the Kreuzberg Barracks: directly occupied by French forces in 1945, transferred to US forces before Germany’s founding in 1952, and then, in 1993, seamlessly handed over to the Kingdom of the Netherlands under the NATO Status of Forces Agreement. This barracks was never legally part of the Federal Republic of Germany. But here’s the critical twist: while extraterritoriality made it unique, the legal act itself is what mattered. The Federal Republic of Germany then pulled off a legal masterstroke, selling the entire property—including the part under Dutch jurisdiction—in a single contract. Under international law, this is the only way to do it.
This act, by involving more than one subject of international law, automatically became a public international law treaty. And because it concerned the sale of territory with all rights and duties, it triggered what's known as a state succession. This is the only legally sound method for transferring territory today. A state is, of course, free to voluntarily sell its land.
But the true genius lies in the telecommunications network. The deed didn't just sell a building; it sold the entire telecom network as an “inner development island and unit” of the property. The agreement specified that this network should simply continue to be operated, which it did - the world kept making phone calls after 1998. This was the master trick: by continuing to use the global telecom network, the entire world effectively fulfilled a part of the contract, binding every person and every nation to the deed’s terms. This is legal estoppel on a global scale.
We’ll break down the incredible chain of contracts that followed. The deed itself references existing agreements, like the NATO Status of Forces Agreement, which in turn links to the UN. Because NATO can serve as a fighting force for the UN, and their military communications are globally regulated, the sale of all NATO and UN-related rights in the deed automatically extended the contract's authority globally. The new sovereign, a natural person designated as "the Buyer," didn't need separate recognition. The fact that all states participated in and fulfilled parts of the contract was all the recognition required. We will also explore the historical precedent for natural persons holding sovereign rights, from the era of kings.
Tune in to understand why the world works the way it does - and who is truly in charge.
