Once again, big tech has mercilessly gutted and butchered yet another great online platform. Here is my written script for this update in it’s entirety: “Unfortunately, due to recent developments, I’ll no longer be continuing this podcast. However, I will continue creating episodes. Let me explain. I’ve been utilizing an application that was originally known as anchor. It was a convenient, easy to use platform that allowed audio compiling and editing to be seamless. Spotify, a large tech corporation recently acquired the application, and after a rebrand, they have butchered it by removing every feature that made this platform popular and unique, including every basic editing tool, their library of royalty free sound clips, and custom episode thumbnails. You cant even splice audio clips together, you have to record your complete episode in one take and upload a single file in it’s entirety if you don’t have any third party editing software, which is often exorbitantly expensive if it’s worth utilizing at all. As I expressed on their site, not everyone can afford studio grade editing software and equipment, and making these tools readily available is what made this app what it is to begin with. Everyone is enraged at the update, and it’s popularity is already declining, and deservedly so. Instead of outright giving up, I’ll be jumping over to a new podcast platform and continuing where I left off here. My new podcast will be titled “The Rudy Show 2” and will be available on itunes, spreaker, spotify, iheartradio, amazon music, and a few other podcast hosting platforms. I truly appreciate your continued support in this exciting endeavor, and I am working to resolve this issue. Thank you.”
