    A SUPERSIZED episode packed with tons of interviews with artists, authors, creators, cosplayers and collectors from the first day of C2E2 2025. This year the largest comic and pop culture convention in the region took place from April 11-13 at the McCormick Convention Center in downtown Chicago. With panels from such massive fandoms as the Lord of the Rings, and a reunion of the cast of the 80’s movie The Breakfast Club, along with plenty of other celebrities on hand for autos and pictures, C2E2 was set to draw even larger crowds this year, as the numbers have been increasing exponentially since the close of the pandemic years where shows were postponed.I was able to talk with folks I knew and have had on the show before, and talk to a bunch of new creators and people who were ready to show their wares to the fans coming in. A big thanks to all who gave me some of their time and were so awesome to peel back some of the curtain on how things work if you are there to show off your work.     Sketch artist and collector Brent Scotchmer returns to the program to talk about his recent work for the Star Wars Galactic Antiquities card set, and a lot of collector talk. Brent sketches for Topps, Upper Deck, Fright Rags, Dynamite, RRParks, Cryptozoic and has his own business doing glass surface coatings.


    Brent last was on the program back in 2021 on episode #107, as well as a two-parter, 62 & 63 in 2020.

    In Homestead keeping we have another Topps release on the horizon with 2024 Masterwork slated for 4/16. Masterwork was one of the regular high end sets of the pre-pandemic era and was usually found at the end of the year.


    Galactic Antiquities arrived in the Topps SWCT app.


    The latest issue of (Apr/May 25) has a nice retrospective article on the Living Set, one year after the 500 card set came to a close. In 2019 Kris Penix was signed on to do 2 arts portraits of Star Wars characters that were made into cards featuring the classic 1977 design. Later on the run, Carlos Cabaleiro was added to the roster and he and Kris had an amazing run of work on the set.
