  • 132 - Flawed & Famous Faith E1
    2025/06/02

Hebrews 11 is one of the most storied and studied chapters in Scripture. While it commends several biblical characters for their faith in God and calls them “a great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1), a majority are individuals with less than stellar track records. We meet men and women who did some exemplary things by faith, even if their lives, like ours, were inconsistent in other areas. They persevered in their faith through tough times of trials and testing, difficulties, and decision. Their stories still have much to teach us if we will learn.

  • 131 - Interview with Dr. Richard Beck
    2025/05/12

At a time when mental health struggles and loneliness are reaching unprecedented levels, the need to rediscover joy, community, and purpose has never been greater. But what if the key isn’t found by turning inward—but by turning outward?

That’s the heart of our conversation with Dr. Richard Beck.

Richard is a professor of psychology at Abilene Christian University, a widely-read blogger, and the author of several thought-provoking books, including his newest book, The Shape of Joy: The Transformative Power of Moving Beyond Yourself.

  • 126 - Exodus E10
    2025/03/24
    1. The book of Exodus began with the people under the cloud of oppression. Chapter 40 closes with them sitting under the cloud of God’s glorious presence. How does the story of Exodus capture the whole story of the Bible? Who and what will stand in the way of God’s promises and faithfulness? How does this encourage you? What lessons have you learned from this study?
    2. In Exodus 40:34-38 we see the glory of God come down to dwell. But what does Paul say in Colossians 1:19, 2:9-10, and 1 Cor 3:16, and what does this mean for us as we walk the Christian life?
    3. What we have in Jesus is infinitely better than Israel and Moses, but Paul says it is still only a dim shadow of the reality to come (1 Cor 13:12). What promise do we find in Revelation 21:3-4 and what does it mean for both our worst days and even our best days now?
