In today's episode, we were on location at dreamland in Margate for the annual Safety In Action event, which is organised by The Salus Group.
Safety in action is an interactive event for year 6 children to learn about some of the risks they may face, as they become more independent and prepare for transition to secondary school.
There are a number of scenarios set up by different organisations to provide information about a variety of topics.

New Project Alert!

Gym Safe is a 2-level pledge; 1 for the leisure centre and its staff and 1 for its members.

Being part of the scheme provides training and an increased awareness for staff and gym users who identify when someone’s behaviour or language is inappropriate or threatening. The training will give you the confidence to challenge that behaviour and report it, knowing that when a report is made to the leisure centre appropriate action will be taken.

The project sits within the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) priority for Kent and Medway as a safety scheme that aims to raise awareness of the issues and reduce the risk of harm.
