Stick Lounge Podcast sits down with Steve Edmiston! A business and entertainment lawyer with Bracepoint Law. He is rated "AV Preeminent" (highest ranking) by Martindale Hubble, and 10 on AVVO.
Steve is also an indie film screenwriter and producer. His credited features as include "Crimes of the Past," distributed by MarVista Entertainment; "A Relative Thing," distributed by Spiritual Cinema Circle and Official Best of Fest; "Farewell to Harry," is distributed by Porchlight Entertainment and Questar; and "The Periphery Project," distributed by IndieFlix. Steve has also written and produced many award-winning short films, notably including local films "The Maury Island Incident," "Reinventing the Patriot," "The Day My Parents Became Cool.”
He is a frequent public speaker on quirky history, film, entrepreneurship, and legal topics. Steve has been a Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau appointee since 2019, with topics including the Prohibition in Northwest, and 1947’s “Summer of the Saucers” and the origin of the iconic Men in Black. He has keynoted for the Pacific Northwest History Conference, Washington State Historical Museum, McMenamins History Pubs, film festivals, conferences, and business groups.
Close to home, Steve is the co-founder of the 4-year-old Men in Black Birthday Bash + Festival (“MIBBB Fest”), a public spin-off of his infamous 13-year-old private annual party in Des Moines, Washington, known as “Burning Saucer.”
Steve was also co-founder and president of Front Porch Classics, the creator of classic “coffee table games” including Family Fun Toy of the Year winner Dread Pirate, and other multi-award winning games including Raceway 57, Stretch Run, Master & Commander. Steve managed the Company's IP portfolio including Sony's Game Show Television Network, Major League Baseball and 20th Century Fox.
Edmiston lives in Des Moines.
