  • A Humanitarian Perspective: Israel - Palestine Conflict with Ishika Millaniyage
    2024/04/17
I wanted to upload this a few weeks ago - or rather, a few days after recording the discussion over Zoom with my latest guest, who is based in Liberia, Africa, and who was kind enough to come on board and provide us with her insights in the situation from another lens. However, life, as usual, got in the way, and my podcast journey almost needed a prolonged break but, thankfully, I'm still around and I'm back! Sorry, it took a while but you'll be seeing more of me in the coming days. 😄 Even though this was recorded nearly three weeks into the conflict, I am sure you'll be interested in hearing what my guest has to say where humanitarian efforts are concerned. If you know me, personally, this geno.cide and simply, this conflict unfolding the way it has, has been affecting me mentally and emotionally and had me questioning life to such an extent, that I kept questioning myself as to whether anything we do nowadays means anything anymore. I try my best to gather info, and more context, learn from what's been going on and try my best to shed light and awareness on the current situation in Gaza and the West Bank.

  • Navigating a Career in Media & PR with Nadiya De Lanerolle
    2023/05/29
Hello, there! Are you ready for another episode of the Manifest Podcast? We sure are because we have a special guest joining us on our next episode. She’s a woman who has been active and present in the PR and Comms industry and is here to share her insights and experiences with us. But before we introduce her, let’s talk about why we’re so excited to have her on our show. We believe that women have a lot to offer to the world, and we want to celebrate their achievements and learn from their stories. Why is this so important? Well, for one thing, women have a lot of skills and talents that can make them great leaders. They often have a more creative and innovative approach, which can lead to more original and effective solutions. They also have a more relatable and empathetic style, which can foster more trust and collaboration among their teams and stakeholders. And having more women in leadership roles can inspire other girls and young women to pursue their goals and overcome their challenges. Women face a lot of barriers and biases in many fields. If we narrow down on the PR and Comms sector, this industry is highly competitive and fast-paced, and it can take time for women to get the recognition and respect they deserve. There are also stereotypes and expectations that can limit women’s potential and opportunities. That’s why we’re so thrilled to have our guest today. She’s a woman who has a lot of insight to share with us, about her experiences in the comms industry and it feels like her moment to truly shine has been overdue. So, don’t miss this episode of the Manifest Podcast. We’re so excited to share this inspiring conversation with you and to help amplify the voices of women professionals in Sri Lanka and beyond. Let’s celebrate them and work together to create a better world for all.
