このコンテンツについて
In this episode, we’re celebrating an epic milestone at Kentucky Derby 151 with the man behind one of the most iconic sounds in sports—Steve Buttleman. This year marks Steve’s 30th season calling the horses to the post for the fastest two minutes in sports. I caught up with him at Wagner’s Pharmacy, an institution just steps away from Churchill Downs, where we took a walk down memory lane.
Steve reflects on his nerve-wracking audition process 30 years ago—an audition he thought he had completely blown—and shares some incredible stories about the people and moments that have made his career unforgettable. He also opens up about being his own toughest critic and how he’s constantly adding new flair to that legendary call to post that gives us chills year after year.
It’s part one of two part conversation filled with heart, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at a true Derby tradition.
