Discover the fulfilling world of non-destructive testing with Donald Booth, CEO of American Institute of NDT. Explore NDT's vital role in safety, lucrative career paths, and the school's innovative approach to hands-on trade education.

Non-destructive testing, or NDT, is a vital but often overlooked field that ensures the safety and integrity of critical infrastructure like bridges, pipelines, aircraft, nuclear facilities and more. Using advanced technologies like ultrasound, radiation, and electromagnetic currents, NDT specialists can assess structural soundness without causing any damage.

Donald shares his fascinating journey from failed business ventures to establishing a one-of-a-kind hybrid NDT training program. His school offers an accessible 7-month curriculum with online learning and just 3 weeks of required on-campus attendance, perfect for career changers ages 25-40 who are unsatisfied in their current jobs. With small class sizes, personalized support, and an impressive 93% job placement rate, AINDT is revolutionizing NDT education.

Graduates can launch successful and fulfilling careers, with typical starting salaries of $60-65K and ample room for advancement. Donald emphasizes the importance of continuous learning, integrity, and genuine interest in the work. He highlights how skilled tradespeople, while often unsung, play a crucial role in our society and economy.

Donald Booth, an expert in tank inspection, has a wealth of experience studying tank disasters. One of his most notable studies was the infamous great molasses tank disaster that occurred years ago in the US, where malfunctioning molasses tanks caused a tragic accident.

Donald vividly recounts how the officials at the time painted over a visible leak, attempting to conceal instead of fixing it - a fatal mistake. He often refers to this incident when underscoring the importance of the American Petroleum Institute's API 653, a directive that ensures the safety of above ground storage tanks.
