    Hello, and welcome to the Joy of Retail podcast. I'm Chris Thomas, Founder and CEO of Cake Agency.

    Although going forwards I will be the host of the podcast, In this first episode I am the guest. I’ve asked my agency director Kirstie Smith to interview me so I can tell you about my background in retail and what led me to where I am today.
    We talk about how retail was never in my life plan until I got a taste for it working for my Dad in the famous Oasis fashion store in Birmingham, the thrill of our first online sale at Cloggs right at the start of internet shopping, and how we eventually sold the business to JD Sports.
    We discuss what led me to set up digital marketing business Cake Agency and how I’m still finding the joy in retail 20 years later.
