  • Why Love Isn't Enough to Keep Your Marriage Strong During the Storms
    2025/07/30

Love wasn’t enough to save our marriage. Faith was.

Before the launch of The Home on the Rock, we were invited to share our story on The Fordify Show with Emily Ford and Jake Havron. It was the first time we ever shared our story publicly - the story that gave birth to The Home on the Rock and shaped our desire to help other couples navigate the stormiest seasons of marriage and parenting through faith, truth, and healing.

We talked openly about the pain we didn’t know how to process for years, the miscarriage that broke our hearts, and the resentment and disconnection that crept without us realizing it. But in the middle of that storm, God gave us the opportunity to rebuild not on our feelings but on His foundation.

If you’re in a difficult season in your marriage, parenthood, or your faith, we hope this conversation meets you where you are and reminds you: storms don’t mean it’s over. Sometimes, they’re the beginning of something sacred.

  • Losing Sleep After Having A Baby
    2025/07/16

Nothing prepares you for the kind of sleep deprivation that comes after having a baby.

It’s not just being tired — it’s a physical, emotional, and mental unraveling that can sneak in slowly… and hit all at once.

In this episode, we’re talking about sleep — the kind you lose, the kind you try to catch up on, and what we’ve learned through navigating newborn nights, nap guilt, co-sleeping, and shifting routines. We share what we got wrong in the beginning (like trying to power through on our own), the resentment that built up in the quiet hours, and the small but powerful shifts that helped us restore peace, both at night and during the day.

We walk through the products that helped, the rituals that didn’t, how we split night shifts, and what we learned about our own limits and needs. From bottle warmers to glow-in-the-dark pacifiers, to learning how to sleep in shifts, we cover the real, raw, behind-the-scenes in those early parenting years.

There’s no one “right” way to do it, but there are ways to do it with more grace, more presence, and more peace.

    In this episode:

(01:12) - How sleep became the first major parenting battle (04:30) - What we thought would work (and why it didn’t) (10:00) - The agreement that created resentment (15:00) - Why sleep deprivation isn’t just physical (18:45) - The guilt & reality of “nap when the baby naps” (24:00) - The strategy that saved us (31:00) - Gears and products that helped (and what we’d skip) (42:00) - Co-sleeping: What worked with one kid vs two (55:00) - Intimacy, distance, and sleep: How we’re making it work (1:08:00) - What we’ll always remember from this season
