The sheepfold was a place of safety and rest. In John 10:9, Jesus said, “Yes, I AM THE GATE. Those who come in through Me will be saved.” The word, saved, is the Greek word, sozo, which means to save, to rescue, to deliver, to heal, to preserve. Jesus is the ONLY Gate/Door to salvation. Jesus is the ONLY way to a relationship with God. In this series, we study Who Jesus says He Is. As the Bread of Life, Jesus reveals that He nourishes and strengthens our Spirit through His Word. Ron makes the comparison between Jesus’ friends, Mary and Martha, and how each valued God’s Word.

When Martha was consumed with providing for others in her own strength, Jesus reminded her that there is only one thing that is needful—and that was to sit at Jesus’ feet and learn God’s Word—which would refresh her and strengthen her faith!

“Jesus replied, ‘I am the Bread of Life. Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35
