  • Ep 16: My Most Re-Watched Movies
    2025/07/18
In my formative years I discovered films that changed my life, altered my brain chemistry and shaped me into the person I am today. While most of those movies I now watch as adult and cringe so hard that I identified with them so much, there a few that still and will always stand out. They became the movies that I watched every school holidays, special occasions, sleepovers or just because I found comfort in them. These movies are but a few of those :)

Spoilers ahead but I have timestamped the movies in case you only wanted to check out one or two:
    ‘Pitch Perfect’ (2012) – Jason Moore – 3:30
    ‘Sky High’ (2005) – Mike Mitchell – 10:30
    ‘Flipped’ (2010) – Rob Reiner – 18:00

    Hope you enjoy!!

  • Ep 15: a flesh plant looking thing?
    2025/07/16
    SPOILERS – SO MANY SPOILERS

I recently discovered that I could be a horror movie fan ????? So, in honour of discovering my new (fave ???) genre, I will be starting a horror movie series, where I give my thoughts before, during and after the film.

No better way than to kick it off with than with Philip Kaufman’s, 1978 film, ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’. What I think is a slow start to the movie, ends up being one of the most intriguing, bizarre and haunting films. So subtle, but so effective, I hope you enjoy my take on the film and my raw and very REAL reaction to that one scene with that one dog!

    Hope you enjoy!!

  • Ep 11: Shark Movies Are Problematic
    2025/05/16
Hello everyone and welcome to another episode!! Something a little bit different today and one of my more niche cinema opinions that I don't like to talk about too often but that is the idea that shark movies are problematic. Anyone who has scrolled through streaming services trying to find the perfect movie, will often scroll far enough to reach the depths of the movie-making world that is shark movies. This genre challenges itself to see how silly and unrealistic the genre can get with bad cgi sharks and even worse story lines! While I can laugh at the ridiculousness, I'm a little unsure that shark movies hold a good place in film and tv.
Find the link below to see where you can watch 'Sharksploitation' a documentary that deep dives into this very topic - https://www.flicks.com.au/movie/sharksploitation/
Alternatively, here are some articles that I read while researching for this episode: https://www.forbes.com/sites/melissacristinamarquez/2021/11/16/sharks-being-the-villains-in-movies-isnt-helping-their-image-problem/https://thedailyjaws.com/blog/the-jaws-problem-why-shark-movies-are-generally-getting-worseLastly, a list of shark movies that have been made and are available to stream on many streaming services: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls022606419/
