This Music Doesn’t Belong To You

In the late 90-s and early 2000’s the Uk saw an explosion of bands that loosely fitted under the umbrella of punk. Hundreds of bands played up and down the country playing thousands of shows each year. In this season’s podcast Chas interviews ket members of that scene and try’s to uncover the reason why hardly any of the major press gave this scene coverage and if some of those DIY ethics can help us now in ever day life.

In this episode I speak to Pete Fraser. Pete was the sax player in Jesse James and went on to play with many brilliant bands and musicians.

Pete gives us his unique view on the UK punk scene in the 90s/2000’s from the point of view of a session player who stumbled upon the scene.

At the time of the interview Pete was due to join the pogues with the rest of the old Jesse James brass section who are now a mainstay in the group to celebrate their music and to remember Shane.

I really enjoyed chatting to Pete about so many things as he’s incredibly inspiring to be around.

    Thanks

    Chas
